Rebecca lives in Australia’s capital surrounded by bushland and kangaroos. When she’s not writing about small town romance or sexy athletes she’s watching football with her husband, snuggling up with their dog or indulging in some very yummy chocolates.
Tell us a little bit about Rebecca Barber.
I am kinda a hermit! I live with my husband and spoilt dog in Canberra. I work way too many hours in my day job which is mostly spending the day with numbers and spreadsheets, so writing is completely opposite. I love naps, chocolate and AFL and love attending signings as a reader or an author because I get so rejuvenated by everyone I come home even more inspired!
Why did you choose the genre you write?
I write whatever I feel at the time. Sometimes is sports, sometimes small town. Most of my stories start as a dream and then evolve from there. I don’t feel like I choose what I write, it’s more like my characters go rogue and I just hang on for the ride.
Who is your favourite author in the same genre as you?
So many and it really depends what I’m feeling. Hope Ford is a huge inspiration right now based on what I’m currently working on, but I read mainly indie authors these days and there’s so many amazing ones out there!
Is there something you wish you knew when you first started that you know now?
The business side especially marketing. This is the part I find takes the most time and is the hardest to wrap my head around. Believe it or not, writing the words is easy!
Tell us, whether it’s book one or not, which book did you enjoy writing the most and why?
My favourite book I’ve written is one that is yet to release – Too Late Cowboy (coming in early 2025). I love Nash and Taylor’s story but it’s the secondary characters that had me laughing out loud (I can’t wait until you go trick or treating with Sawyer!)
If you could offer one piece of advice to aspiring or new authors, what would it be?
Believe in yourself and do the work. You’re never going to please everyone so follow your heart. Readers can tell when you write something you don’t believe in
What was your last 5 star read?
I absolutely adored Lyra Parish’s All I Want which recently released!
What is your all time favourite book that you recommend to people all the time?
That’s like asking to pick your favourite child! If I had to pick one, it would be Storms Over Africa by Beverly Harper
How do you handle a difficult review?
Chocolate, chocolate, dog snuggles and more chocolate! The more I release though, the more I find I don’t read reviews – good or bad. I have an amazing tribe around me who do this for me!
Who was your first celebrity crush?
Ian Thorpe! He was also the main inspiration for the first book I wrote!
Describe your ideal kind of date.
Quiet night in where I don’t have to think – you pick the movie, you organise the snacks, I show up and we’re good!
Who is your fave actor right now?
I don’t really watch a lot of movies/TV shows but I’m always a Chris Hemsworth fan 😛
What was your last release?

Last release was a million years ago and was HUDSON – book 3 in my Dirty Billionaires series
What are you working on now?
I’m working like crazy in the back ground getting ready to release my cowboy series which should drop early 2025. I also have another standalone which should release soon-ish and on November 12th 2024 I have my Evergreen Lake book, Mistletoe Magic releasing (part of a multi-author world)
I’m also busily working on signing exclusive books and special editions and I have to say, they look so pretty!
Rebecca’s gateway book is….Fallen!

Fallen is a book about Zach, a tattooed firefighter who finds an abandoned baby and falls instantly in love with her and can’t give her up. When Lily, the temporary carer shows up to collect the baby, sparks fly as Lily and Zach both fall for the baby and each other.
